Design Week, or Salone del Mobile as it’s known here, is perhaps the most important moment of the year in Milan, the week when all of the finest creative minds descend upon the city to showcase their new ideas and celebrate this special shared space dedicated to wonder. As we launch our brand new Solar Collection, a homeware line inspired by the potent, energy-activating properties of the big bright star in our backyard, we’re honouring this season with an incredible installation created by a creative mastermind of an artist at the place which first inspired the collection, the historic Palazzo Belgioioso. Viral multi-disciplinary conceptual artist Max Siedentopf has joined our joy tribe for the week of Salone, crafting a moving “Dancing Plates” sculpture out of our new homewares. Max was so inspired by the Solar Collection, which comes displayed just steps from the floor mosaic that we reimagined across several of our plates, that he created a poem in ode to the line, writ large against the walls of the Palazzo for the presentation.
