Whether it’s the sun-faded stones of the traditional Puglian homes, the deep green palm fronds sprouting on every stoop, or the sapphire blue sea sparkling in the distance, there’s something incomparably romantic about the streets of Monopoli. Our favourite thing to do in this city? To get lost in the winding streets stretching out towards the horizon. There’s an “only in Italy” kind of quiet beauty around every corner.
Framed by the ancient city wall, the Old Port of Monopoli is the heart of the town, buzzing with fisherman in the early morning as they board their vibrant boats to make their catch of the day. We recommend grabbing a fresh slice of focaccia from Il Forno Delle Meraviglie before wandering down to the port for a merenda with a view. (Just be sure to charge your cameraphone - you’ll want to take pictures).
PUGLIA
Wondering where we escaped to for this colorful campaign? To Puglia, the breathtaking, sun-baked, downright delicious region at the “heel” of Italy’s “boot”. Home to endless expanses of olive groves and some of the world’s most breathtaking beaches, it remains one of the most classically “Italian” parts of this pretty perfect country, somehow retaining it’s slow-moving sweetness, immune to the vast influx of tourists that alight each august. Skip the crowds at Ostuni and Alberobello this summer and head to Monopoli, a jewel of a town right on the Adriatic Sea (and the perfect destination to test drive our LDJ x OB collection). Just be sure to make space in your suitcase for the mountains of taralli you’ll be lugging back home with you.

Let’s be honest, Saint Tropez is not for the frugal. So, if you’re going to splash out, ensure it’s at the Château de la Messardière, an extraordinary 19th-century palace that boasts spell-binding views at every turn and smells like jasmine in the summer. It’s got a vegetable garden, a Michelin-star chef, pools (yes, multiple) and its own private beach club. It’s basically a roaring 20s paradise. What a joy, then to get to share this beautiful place with our guests who joined us to celebrate the launch this month. Just look at how happy we are!
Grooving at our open air ecstatic dance party with Sanctum, the best British energy elevators.
Dinner under the wisteria with our Saint Tropez troupe. A toast to the start of summer!
COTE D'AZUR
[1:00 PM] Lara Southern When we think of a classic Côte d’Azur summer, those iconic sun-faded images of glamorous gamines and off-duty celebrities in St. Tropez instantly spring to mind. Where better then, than this historic oceanside spot to launch our new La DoubleJ x Orlebar Brown collection, a line designed with just such romantic seaside destinations in mind. While we wish we could replicate the 24 hour festa we threw there just for you - think an ecstatic dance party, sunset aperitivo, dinner under the wisteria, a morning meditation - we’ve compiled our favourite go-to places for making the most of your getaway at this seaside jewel.

There’s no shortage of spectacular sandy spots along the coast here in St. Tropez, but we love La Plage des Salins for their cerulean blue ombrellone and sunbeds (also the fact that they serve incredible pizza just steps from the ocean is a big BIG bonus). Just grab your oversized sunnies and your appropriately retro-romantic Fonda Swimsuit and your ready to glow!
Is there anything that screams Italian summer more than a boat ride along the coast? J.J. and Adam did it up in style, customising four boats for our guests with our Dragonflower prints from the collection. Even Pepper, J.J.’s pug joined in the joy!
Our guests fully feeling the dolce vita vibe. Prosecco, prints & Portofino? Perfect.
A supper spread on our new Solar Collection homewares at the prettiest restaurant in the port, cloaked in our prints (we’ll be there all month!)
LIGURIA
When we think of the Italian coast, we think of Portofino. The glamourous well-shod women, the beautiful mahogany boats, the postcard-perfect candy-coloured villas climbing the mountain that rises from the sea. Though it’s perfect any time of year, we recommend going in June, when the sun is shining and the gelato is flowing but there are still fewer crowds than in July or August. June is also the month that we’ve taken over two iconic spots in Portofino’s port, the Spinnaker space for a month-long pop up shop, and it’s neighbour, Ö Magazin, a restaurant so close to the water you can dip your toes in while you dine on the finest spaghetti alle vongole in Liguria. For good measure, we threw in one of our fave spots for a slice of focaccia Genovese, a daily staple round these parts.
